Sunset Lodge

This is our 10th consecutive year staying at this property so we obviously like it. The house is definitely an older one with a few quirks, but it has been well kept up and has lots of areas for 8-10 people to spread out. A/C works well. Its location and numerous outside spaces make it perfect for birdwatching, kayaking and enjoying sunsets over the marsh. It is also more private than many houses. I would recommend it strongly for anyone wanting a "classic" Carolina beach house experience.

We've stayed at Sunset Lodge multiple times. The views of the marsh and sunsets are beautiful. The house is comfortable and interesting - in a good way. . It is well-built with different sitting areas and plenty of outdoor space - multiple decks and several screened in porches. The large lot and natural setting provides privacy. I love this house. The beds are comfortable, the water pressure is great, the kitchen is well-stocked. The kayaks and other beach equipment available for use allows for everything needed to enjoy the surroundings. There bean bag toss and plenty of yard to set up the game. We also brought bocce ball. We just left and are already looking forward to the next visit to Sunset Lodge.

Sunset Lodge is a comfortable place for our multi-generational family to vacation. There are activities for all ages (corn hole, kyacks, crab pots, a charcoal grill, many books to read and jigsaw puzzles and board games). The kitchen was well equipped for being able to prepare all our meals there. Binoculars and a telescope encourages bird watching through the large windows or outside on the decks. All this is conducive for a wonderful family vacation! Thanks!

Sunset Lodge has beautiful views and offers much privacy...

The customer support service from Peggy was excellent. Sunset Lodge is my favorite property on my favorite beach. The home is comfortable and very well stocked. It is well cared for in the views of the marsh are outstanding.

Sunset Lodge was a very different property. The views of the marsh were lovely with beautiful sunsets. My favorite part though was the back porch where I watched egrets in the pond below. The property offered much privacy. I hope to return.

We love the quiet more secluded location of Sunset Lodge. The views from the extensive deck are amazing.

We loved the place! It was a little old but very nice and adequate for us. The dock was a bonus and we used it a lot, fishing and hanging out. The kitchen was adequate, though older, but good enough for us. The outside grill was old but a new grill was delivered the day we left, for others renting the place or not we were not sure. This would be one of the things we would recommend to the owners. We hope to stay there again next year. We will be in touch soon. Thanks, Celeste Norman

This house has a magical location - the unpaved drive up sets the stage for a truly special experience. The marsh access, back dock, wonderful back porches, and crow's nest make this home a favorite out of all the homes I've enjoyed at Sunset for the past 42 years. The included kayaks were such a joy. The view from the windows alone makes the house just so fantastic.

Great views and access to the creek. Use of kyacks a real plus.The books available are the best selection I've seen. Well stocked kitchen and comfortable bedrooms. Loved the metal artwork.

Sunset Lodge is a wonderful, classic cottage, with comfortable furniture and lovely original art. Views, kayaking, birdwatching, a short walk to beach. Books, binocs and a well equipped kitchen. Screened porches a plus. Outdoor grill great for cooking with charcoal. We even made paella! Loved the top deck for watching the Perseid meteor shower! We will be back!
