Ocean Dunes

Thoroughly enjoyed our time at the property on Sunset Beach. Excellent outdoor furniture and area for watching the sunset or just gathering. Dog friendly, had a great time with family. Had wonderful seafood at Calabash. Love taking walks on the beach.

Exceeded our expectations of our stay with a great deck & view of the ocean. The bedrooms and living spaces are nicely laid out and suited the 8 of us that stayed surprisingly well.

We enjoyed this lovely home very much. Well laid out and enough room for a total of 11. Six adults, 5 Children.I think everyone was "at home". Easy walk to the beach and nearby stores for the children.

We had a delightful time with our family for Thanksgiving. The kitchen was well-stocked. We loved the view and the location. Definitely we will be coming back. The only negative was the ice maker was not working, but there was a note on the frig on check=in so we knew to go buy ice. Thank you for a great Thanksgiving Holiday!

Ocean Dunes was a clean and comfortable cottage. We would recommend it!

Love love love! Love the flooring without carpet, finishing of house is great. Deck has perfect set up, love deck furniture and gate so dog can be outside without worry! So glad it' pet friendly (and because of no carpet we were able to sweep up pet hair before we left). A bigger refrigerator or larger space for frozen food would be nice since we stay 2 weeks, but not a complaint by any means. Front steps into house are a bit narrow so we used deck steps 99% of the time. (I use a walker so I was great full for the sturdy deck staircase) We loved it so much we booked 2 weeks for next year within a few days of being there!

Ocean Dunes is a wonderful, family-friendly property. The location is excellent for quick access to the beach.

The updates made the house so bright and comfortable. The location is fabulous and lots of space for parking cars for the family. So grateful that it is still dog friendly - our family pups loved the room and the deck area. We're already looking forward to next year,

We loved the location last year but the updated cottage this year was an unexpected treat! The decor and comfort are wonderful. The divided bathroom upstairs is particularlyappreciated and makes the cottage more flexible for families.We loved the updated decor and facilities this year. Two of the rickety rockers on the front porch were replaced during our stay, and more chairs would be appreciated so that we can sit on the large deck. A table on the deck would also be good.We would love to have a grill. My son-in-law caught a fish in the surf, a drum, large enough to feed all of us.Thank you for a wonderful place to spend a week. Wish we could stay longer.Martha Sumner

Ocean Dunes is amazing! Location is great, right beside the beach access and ocean front. Plenty of rocking chairs to set and enjoy the sunrise. Outside closet is full of chairs and sand toys to use. The updates that the owners had made are fantastic. New appliances, kitchen cabinets and bathroom upgrades. Enough kitchenware to cook your favorite dinner. Also found a variety of spices in the cabinet. Puzzles and games for late night fun or rainy days. The whole house is just comfortable. We will definitely be staying here again.

Ocean Dunes was perfect for our family! It was dog friendly too which was perfect, we really appreciated being able to bring them along on the trip! Being by a beach access was wonderful! So convenient! There was plenty of space for our family.. we could have used on more bedroom but it worked out fine! The decor was older but adequate for our needs especially with the dogs. We understood that going in when renting the property. It has a nice beach feel to it even if older! There was plenty of storage under the house in a closet type area as well as at the entrance on the lower level to place our beach umbrella and chairs.The property also had some chairs and beach toys/shovels we could borrow. The deck and the rocking chairs were a huge highlight to the property, being able to enjoy in the morning and at night was fantastic! There is also ample shade if needed all day long! The view was perfect! We enjoyed our stay.. we would love to come back soon! We were sad to leave but we made a lot of great memories at Sunset Beach and Ocean Dunes!

Location is amazing-being so close to the access really makes a difference, especially with small children. While the décor is a bit shabby, the size of the living area, the bedrooms and the bathrooms is fabulous. We had 7 adults, 2 small children and 2 dogs (about 50 lbs each) and we were not crowded at all. We didn't watch a lot of TV, but were impressed with the Smart TV access and the WiFi access accommodated lots of devices! The kitchen has room, not just for people to work, but also for places to store food in cabinets instead of on the counter tops. Really missed rocking chairs that were not present on the deck. We will be back!

Our stay was great, the house could use some updates, but overall we had a great vacation. The location to the walkway, beach was awesome and down far enough to be away from the main beach entrance for visitors. There are many stores close by and with the Covid threat, we did not have to travel far for anything and there were great restaurants within a short drive as well. I recommend renting a grill as well as the grills at the property are small and dated.

The location of the beach house next to the beach access and beachfront was fantastic. The deck facing the beach had shade and sun at all times of the day. The gate in the deck was secure for our pet and toddler. The furnishings were adequate but worn. The vinyl flooring in the main part of the house was good to allow sand and pet hair to be swept. We had 10 people in the home and we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay.

this is definitely one of the older properties on Sunset Beach, which we understood going in. The interior is very dark for a beach house. It would be awesome if the owners would consider painting the wood paneling a light color (maybe just the top or bottom to show contrast) to brighten the space. The appliances all worked just fine and we were so happy to find an ocean front location where we could comfortably bring our fur baby.

This is the second year our family has stayed in Ocean Dunes and we plan to continue this tradition for years to come. The location is perfect and the house is a roomy, pet friendly home. There is new flooring throughout the first level which really updates the look. The deck overlooking the beach is one of our favorite things at Ocean Dunes! It is spacious and offers great views. Although there is nothing "fancy" about this house and its furnishings, it's still a great property to rent!

Fantastic house!!! I cannot imagine staying anywhere else. The kitchen has every appliance and tool you could possibly use. The openness makes the house not feel crowded and there is plenty of room for lots of people to eat and visit. The back wall of windows make the ocean view always visible. The outdoor deck is amazing. You can sit under cover or in the sun and enjoy the view equally! It's perfection!!

Ocean Dunes was perfect. We chose this home for 2 reasons, it was ocean front and it allowed pets. We were happily surprised with the large open deck, floor to ceiling windows on the entire back of the house and a perfectly appointed kitchen. We loved it so much, we reserved it for next year before we left. In our 6 years of going to Sunset Beach, we have never done that. We are looking forward to many years with our family in this home.

We have been coming to Sunset Beach for over 30 years, and this was another incredible 2 week stay. The house was very accommodating for our large family, and the beach, as always, is the best. Bike riding around the island and along the beach was definitely a highlight. We also saw the dolphins off the coast, a sea turtle swimming by us, and other sea life that make for incredible memories. Thank you, Sunset Beach, for being a home away from home.

Oceanfront at Ocean Dunes was everything I had hoped it would be. So close to the beach that walking to and from was effortless. The Beach itself was clean, no debris, no noise, it was magically calming.

Ocean Dunes is a great place to spend a relaxing week at Sunset. Its ocean front location/ beach access was a real plus for our entire family (young and old) and the open patio was a real plus for star gazing at night. Being pet friendly was an additional "plus" for us as we find it extremely difficult to board our dog.I will say that some minor repairs/upgrades (replacing some patio boards and gate, bathroom fixtures, cabinet drawers) would make it even more special.All-in-all, we had a wonderful time at Sunset Beach and expect to be back next year.
