Island Castle

We have stayed at Island Castle several times and love it. It's big enough for our large family who drive to the beach from 4 different states.The back porch overlooking the marsh is our favorite place to hang out.

The property was wonderful. Very specious with plenty of room for our group of 9. If we had one complaint it was that a few of the beds were a bit squeaky and creaky. Otherwise a wonderful experience for everyone.

We have rented Island Castle several times--it's perfect for our large family (16) and the views from the screened in porch are wonderful.We have already booked it again for next summer.

Very spacious rooms, well equipped kitchen. We appreciated the extra refrigerator. Foosball was an unexpected hit with us. Just about perfect for our group of sixteen ranging in age from 3 to 71.

We have stayed at Island Castle for 3 years now and it's a very nice house with a large kitchen and den. In my opinion, the layout has a master bedroom upstairs and one downstairs, both with huge bathrooms. The other upstairs bedrooms have a very large bathroom to share as well. The crow's nest views are spectacular and the first floor screened porch provides great protection against mosquitoes!

House was perfect for our 3 generation family week, ranging in age from 2 to 85. Plenty of room for family and quiet times. Kitchen perfect size for multiple folks to work on meals at same time. So many porches to sit, relax and enjoy sunrise and sunset. Couldn't have asked for a better week. Sunset Beach is a great place for family vacations.

This is the third time our family has stayed at Island Castle--the views from the screened porch at the back look out over the marsh and are very peaceful with heron, egrets, pelicans and other birds flying here and there.As one of the largest rental houses it fits our family comfortably and the kitchen is well equipped for any type of homemade meal we cook up.The walk to the beach is less than 10 minutes including the wooden walkway to the sand.We will be back next year!

We love this house. We felt at home there. Rented again for next year.

Have traveled to Sunset a few times a year for the past 3 years. This house was easily the cleanest house I have stayed in. It was immaculate. Was just deep cleaned and I think we were the first stay of the season. Brand new roof top benches, which have great sunset and marsh views. Would highly recommend.

4.7 out of 5Overall the house was great. The living room couch and love seat could stand to be updated to something that is more comfortable. Furniture in upstairs family room was also very dated. The small beverage cooler was a nice plus. Linen service - one towel per person for the week really isn't enough. Should be two towels. Awesome that this was a linen ready house. Wonderful that there were enough chairs on the screened porch and the front porch to accommodate everyone.The layout was great and made it easy with teenagers and smaller kids.

We absolutely loved this property. The rooms are huge! Plenty of space for a large, tall family! In fact, the kitchen cabinets and others hang bars in closets are really high -- which works for our family, but might be a little tough on the more height-challenged. I would say the only downside to the house was that the air conditioning units didn't keep up very well. There are ceiling fans in every room (3 in the kitchen/great room) and those helped, but the units struggled to keep up. The beds were very comfortable. The bathrooms very spacious. The jacuzzi tub in the first floor MBR worked very well and we loved the door out onto the covered, screened in porch. The rooftop deck was just fantastic. I know everyone enjoyed the views from up there. The porch had lots of good seating and the view is, well....spectacular. The outside shower does not have good water pressure and some of the family just brought the hose into the shower with them to get a more powerful (and cooler) shower. The kitchen was very well stocked. TV's all worked well. It was perfect for our dog, too. Didn't worry overly much about the furniture. Lots of parking spaces out front for a large family with multiple vehicles.

Island Castle is wonderful!This is the second time we've stayed in this house. We love the spaciousness, the porches, the marsh view--everything!

Our family really enjoyed this spacious and well equipped house. The direct .3 mile walk to the beach was an easy walk for all.

Perfect for families with children! Very spacious bedrooms and bathrooms.

Beautiful house with awesome views. Great porches for relaxing. Very easy to walk to the beach and around the island. We will stay here again.

Island Castle is a beautiful house! This is our second year staying there, and we've reserved it again for next year.

Great house! Huge rooms and common space on the first floor, easily fit our extended family. Back deck had a beautiful view and front deck got a great breeze in the afternoon. Couldn't have asked for more in our first time staying here, hope to be back soon!

The home was clean, very spacious and had a great layout. The view if the bridge and marsh area was also very nice. The only thing we would change would be having a more comfortable bed sheets and a Kerig coffee maker.

Island Castle is a beautiful, comfortable and roomy house; there were 12 in our party and a dog and the house was no crowded. The open floor plans and the size of the bedrooms were a pleasant surprise. The back patio with the bay view was great especially in the morning while having coffee and watching the sun rise. In the evening, the view provided some beautiful sunsets! Definitely would consider rebooking.
