His & Hers East

This is our 16th year renting this house for our family's annual vacation. We keep coming back year after year because this house feels like a home away from home. It is setup with comfortable homey furnishings, super comfortable beds, a fully stocked kitchen, and a washer/dryer on site.We come knowing that we will find everything we need so we can just enjoy the ocean and relax!

We have returned to Sunset Beach over 20 times now and love the area. Our kids bring their kids and I'm sure it's a story you must hear often. Having stayed in His n Hers West last year, we knew what we were getting. The house interior is quite dated but remains good value for the location. The only surprise was the leaking windows during tropical storm Idalia, but all was dealt with swiftly over the next two days. If I could make a few inexpensive suggestions:-replace skillets and knives (non-stick coating very scratched and knives very dull)-add non-slip surface to bathtubs or provide mats (slipping risk is high)-a couple of small tables on the deck would be super helpful to set a drink onHowever, overall, good stay again !

Easy access to beach. Unit was great. Could use some up grades in kitchen tools. Loved using laundry option. Would stay there again.

This house is literally our home away from home because we have rented it 15 years straight, counting this year.It is big enough to have a large family stay and quite spacious for our little family.I love having a TV in each bedroom so the boys can take their games in their rooms.The Ocean Front view is amazing! My favorite spot is sitting on either of the decks (upper or lower) enjoying the sound of the waves and salt air/breeze. It is the best place to decompress and read.We see Deer in the early morning (5am/6am) and frequently bunnies/rabbits and sand creatures (small lizards and crabs). It is a Bird Sanctuary on the island so we see a lot of birds; Pelicans frequently fly over the house or about 15 feet in front of it. There are thermal air currents that the big birds float/sore on as well. There are always a pair of Cardinals that stop on the deck rail to see who is at the house.The Beach is always clean and they have built new/additional beach access bridges the last two years.My sons love the beach and using body boards in the ocean. My husband enjoys taking his boat out in the deeper waters to fish and sometimes fishes directly off the beach.

This condo was dated but comfortable for young families. We did find lamps that did not work, blinds that did not work and the bathroom wallpaper was peeling off the walls in places.

We enjoyed our stay at the His & Hers East and West properties. Although the interior looked as if it had seen better days, everything was clean and orderly. The properties had lots of usable space and worked well for our families (especially being able to use both sides).

We stayed Memorial Day Week this year (2022), which was our 14th year renting the His & Hers East Beach House. We always enjoy our yearly vacation to Sunset Beach. There is a lot of activities to enjoy, but most of all it is peaceful and calming and we can recharge with the Ocean sounds and smells. It is our home away from home with everything we need for our family. There are dishes, silverware, a coffee pot, and blender, etc., everything you need and do not have to bring with you. There is plenty of room to have individual space and plenty of space in the gathering areas too. It is great to have the outside shower, clothesline, and laundry on the ground floor for when the boys come back from the beach. It sounds a little cliche but even when you are not doing anything but rocking on the back deck, you are doing everything for yourself. The wildlife (Deer) walk by on the path, the rabbits come out munching on the shrubs and the birds sing for you in the morning and most of the day too.It is hard for us to leave and return to Northern Virginia when we have adapted to the slower pace at the Beach, but we know we only have 357 days until we can return.It is the best place to unwind and recharge, it is my Happy Place.Lisa S.

We had a great vacation at his and hers its a solid house and the bedrooms are very quiet. Great beach access and wonderful views.

Nice place

When we arrived the house was so clean and smelled so fresh!The beds were super comfortable and everything was so open. This was our 13th year staying at the house and it feels like a second home. We were sorry to leave.

The property was wonderful, great views from both levels. Great location on Sunset Beach, a nice walk to to pier and also to the end of the beach (in the opposite direction from the pier). Comfortable beds. We would stay here again!

We rented 'His and Hers E and W' for ourselves, our kids and grandkids. The location is perfect for families because of its proximity to the beach and ocean. The house has 2 bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs on each side. There are decks upstairs and downstairs facing the ocean and small decks downstairs facing the street with a view of the waterway. The upstairs decks are wonderful for watching the stars at night and for watching the moonrise or the sunrise. It is a comfortable house with well-stocked kitchens and a separate laundry room on the ground floor.This trip provided a chance to watch a turtle nest each evening on the beach near the house!Our family has been coming to Sunset Beach since 1982 and now it is becoming the favorite of a fourth generation.

It was great ! Very clean and convenient

We had A and B. Everything was very nice. It was spacious and had exactly what our family needed. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Sunset Beach holds good memories for our children and we were glad to bring our grandchildren. Weather was great and we were able to all be together and enjoy the beach.

Beach house fit our needs. Improvement recommendations:1. Move King bed to 1st floor bedroom.2. Upgrade two TVs3. Add deck chair tables to hold drinks

This was our 9th year coming to Sunset Beach and staying at the His & Hers Beach House (our side was the His).We love this location and find it comfortable and convenient and hope to keep coming back.
