The Feeling of Sunset Beach

Sunset Beach the southern-most beach in North Carolina- and it faces south! Our very unique beach has the sun rising over the east end of the beach and setting over the west end of the beach rather than over the water. Standing on our very wide strand of sand and looking at the beautiful Atlantic Ocean has you looking directly south. And Sunset Properties manages 400 of the homes at Sunset Beach! And what else makes it unique?

Its not like the Jersey beaches where I went as a kid; no boardwalk, no quick drop off, no cheap beach stores with loud music, no casinos in the background, no confusion thats what Sunset Beach doesnt have. Its also not like the southern California beaches with very rough waves, cold water, oil rigs in the background and very course sand with either a cliff to walk down or beach houses so close you cant walk between them. Its also not like the Florida Keys, where the only beach sand is pumped in and very course or coral reef beaches that you cannot walk on without shoes no sand there to get between your toes!

Sunset Beach does have a wide and level strand of soft white sand that extends far out into the very warm summer water without sea-weed catching in your toes; beautiful beach homes that sit behind the dune line that preserves that breath-taking scenery, birds and other wildlife. Yes, there is a pier where you can fish or take a leisurely quiet stroll, a couple beach stores for t-shirts and ice cream or to rent bikes...and thats about itexcept for the peacefulness, sound of the rolling ocean, a bird flying low looking for its dinner, turtle nests, kids playing and just pure relaxation...walk or bike the 2.5 miles of beach or even cross over to Bird Island another mile of pristine, uninhabited beach that is a bird sanctuary.

But what do I know? You may like the stress, noisy confusion, and neon night life of another type of vacation - but then, isnt there enough stress in the other 51 weeks of the year that for one week you can do without it? (If you panic from the lack of stress, you can always go into Myrtle Beach, SC for a night its about a 20minute drive and has all the stuff you have come to escape!)

You may even like the quiet and slower pace so much youll want to call Sunset Beach your home, like I did many years ago. Sunset Beach it speaks to your heart!
