Friday Night Concert: A Summertime Favorite

It could a final chance to savor the end of another great vacation. For some of us, it can be a cap to another week of living here at the beach. And then for others, it could be a great way to start a beach weekend. Whichever way might fit for you, one of the great ideas for Friday nights is to take in the Concerts on the Coast at Ocean Isle Beach.

These weekly concerts take place just up the road from Sunset Beach by about 10 minutes in the parking lot at the Museum of Coastal Carolina, and regularly draw hundreds of folks to listen, dance, and have a relaxing time outdoors at the beach. The schedule runs from Memorial Day weekend through the Friday of Labor Day weekend, with different bands taking the stage each week. One week might be beach music. The next might be bluegrass. Another might be Big Band music. No matter the style, you'll see folks enjoying it all. (You can check our event calendar on the website for the schedule of bands to perform).

The concerts are scheduled from 6:30 pm until 8 pm weather permitting. Some take picnic dinners to enjoy. Bring some beach chairs to sit in. Please don't take glass containers (they aren't permitted by Town rules).

The concert series is coordinated by the Ocean Isle Property Owners Association. During each week's event, a donation of non-perishable food items or cash is taken for the "Second Helpings" food pantry program in the Shallotte area. Sunset Properties is proud to be one of the event patrons.

So the next summer Friday that you here at the beach, grab some chairs, and head over to the Museum for a fun (and free!) time.
